My name is Heather. I am an athlete and a personal trainer. Wait! What!? Those are two labels I would never really consider for myself. In fact, if you would have told me 5 years ago I would be both of those things I would have laughed out loud! Isn’t it so weird how we put ourselves in a box and never really take the time to consider our possibilities until we find ourselves standing on the outside of the box, with a box cutter in hand?
My journey is one that has truly been God driven and someday I will spend a moment on how I got here (but not today.) Today, on the cusp of a new decade, I am here with the intention to be intentional and to inspire others, maybe even YOU! This blog is going to be about how “ordinary” people can do extraordinary things! I am as ordinary as you can get. I am an introvert at heart but I have a burning in my soul not only to challenge myself but to also help others challenge themselves. My personality is very no nonsense and has even been described as “prickly”! (*eye roll* I’m totally an eye roller) I don’t tolerate useless crap well. I do, however smile from the inside out when I watch other “ordinary” people find that they can, in fact, do extraordinary things! They are capable. You are capable. Their bodies are strong! YOUR body is strong!
So if you’re curious enough to hang out with me, we’ll spend time (hopefully weekly) talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly of our strong bodies and minds. Make this, the first week of the New Year, one of intention. Being fit or fitter than you are has everything to do with being intentional. If it were haphazard and easy, then everyone would be doing it and Oprah wouldn’t be pushing weight watchers! Be intentional on what you eat this week. Be intentional on getting physical. Take it one day at a time. No resolutions here, just intentions and ACTIONS!
